| Shawlands v 2XV 20/09/08 Cartha Queens Park 0 - 15 Buoyed by the previous weeks Cumnock result, SPRFC 2 began the battle of the postcode in confident mood despite numerous changes in personnel. Following the opening exchanges, the MIB took the initiative and began to exert pressure on the Shawlands defence. This pattern of play set the tone for the rest of the half with the Polis scoring from an “old school” rolling maul finished off by the” old master” himself Andy Hamilton. The second half was more of the same with the MIB back comfortably dealing with the few breakouts the home side had. For all their dominance, the Polis lead was only 5 points until after an hour, Captain H picked up a loose ball which had spilled from some scrappy open playand he scampered over the whitewash from 15 yards. Tom Petrie converted. Finally to cap a fine team display, Tom P put over a penalty to seal the game 0-15.
