| Clydebank 10s Tournament 09/08/08 Clydebank Reached Cup Semi Finals The 2008-2009 pre season, ramped up a gear when a Police select (i.e. motley crew) travelled to Clydebank to participate in their annual ten a side tournament. Arriving somewhat later than scheduled, the MIB found out that they had the honour of kicking off the tournament against the hosts. Undeterred with their lack of preparation, the Police took to the field and proceeded to tear up the script by beating the home side by ten points to nil. Before the next game, Coach Watson put the team through their paces and it paid off handsomely as the team racked up their second victory against Shawlands. This result meant the Police topped Pool one and sent them into the Cup semi final against Strathendrick. This was a repeat of last years final and unfortunately for the cops the result was too as Strathendrick scored the winning conversion with the last kick of the game. Overall, a good afternoon’s performance which bodes well for the forthcoming league campaign PS Beware the Experimental Law Variations, they are going to take some getting used to!
