1XV v Oban
01/11/08
Lochinch
34 -14

The home support had hardly time to prise themselves away from the bar when the MIB scored. From the
kick off the ball was taken forward into the Oban 22. A scrum was awarded to MIB and a long pass by Paul
out to Kyle who was well positioned to take advantage of a nearly absent Oban defence to score near the
posts.  Converted by Keeno.

From the restart the ball collected passed through several hands to the left and back across to the right
where Tay on the right wing evaded some poor tackling to score under the posts.  14 - 0 up before the last of
the bar flies made it to the pitch side.  About 9 minutes later an attack, which saw the ball being handled with
great skill and very good support play, led to the MIB just short of the Oban 22 and from open play and with
great awareness, Paul kicked ahead and with a good bounce of the ball,  Nikki collected to stroll over for a
try.

Thinking that this was all too easy the MIB went walkabout.  This allowed Oban back into the game and after
an attack down the right their stand off beat the MIB defence and had a clear run to the line but instead of
running straight to score he opted to try and score under the posts where he was caught short of the line.
For the next 10 minutes Oban continued to attack aided and abetted by the MIB who instead of clearing their
lines opted too often to try and run the ball out from inside their own 22 and ran into trouble.  Eventually the
pressure told when Oban finally scored.

At the start of the second half Oban continued where they left off by scoring from well out, with nobody in
defence for the MIB.  The next 20 minutes the game became more fragmented with the MIBs failing to show
the skills they had in the first 15 minutes but after a penalty conceded by Oban a good kick took the MIB
deep into Oban territory and from general play after the lineout Chris ran in to score between the posts.

With the Bonus point gained the MIB again took to collecting daises, watching birds etc. allowing Oban to
dominate play for some considerable time but when cajoled back into the game they struck back and on two
occasions nearly scored.  The MIBs finished the game in the comfort zone.  Two of the tries were converted
by Keeno.

No MOM as it was felt no one really stood out to be awarded MOM.
