In general it’s cold at the rugby. Exposed pitches mean that the elements are free to ravage you during the game (and some pitches are more exposed than others – a trip to Strathaven can be described as ‘bracing’ at best).
Matches are not played if the ground is snowed over or too hard as players may get injured when they are tackled. However rain, mud, sleet and wind are in general no impediment to play and you should dress accordingly.
Luckily the home ground of Lochinch has a bar that is on the first floor of the clubhouse building and has full-length windows allowing a view of the pitch. If you are a member or a guest of a member then you are welcome to use the bar area which is very conducive to relaxed and warm match viewing from inside when the weather gets too foul. In general we would recommend sticking to the touchline though as it’s much more fun for both the supporters and for the team.
