Scottish Police v
Scottish Army
Murrayfield 28/09/07
The match was a warm up for the crowd prior to Edinburgh v Ulster. It was played 15 mins each way and the score ended 7-3
to Scottish Army. If this had been a full 80 minutes the Police would have run the Army very close and would possibly have just
pipped them with their dominant forward play.
The Army were a team full of Fijian players currently based at Dreghorn Barracks in Edinburgh. The match was a thank you to
DI Gordon Crossan, Central Scotland Police for his continued support to Scottish Rugby and community coaching sessions
during the current RWC.
Afterwards the guys enjoyed the Edinburgh win and a light refreshment or 3 in the
Presidents suite at full time. The outcome was an invitation to play the Scottish Army in a full fixture sometime in 2008,
hopefully to coincide with the 6 Nations.
As usual a lot of hard work organising to get players together from 6 of the 8 Scottish Forces to play in this fixture as was the
Aussie game, so a big thank you to Nic Clough and John Shaw who were there as the Reps and also the organisers of
team/logistics etc.
